Description:
Measurement standards and calibration practices, measurement techniques of ionospheric parameters, plasma diagnostics, solar radiation measurements for atmospheric studies, materials
characterization techniques - SEM, TEM, X-Ray diffraction, X-Ray fluorescence, EPM, NMR, etc., principles and applications of spectrophotometric separation, atomic absorption, electronic and ultrasonic instruments, FTIR, TGA and DTA analysis, etc., error analysis of experimental data.

The course will emphasize hands-on practice in the use and operation of modern instruments available in NPL. The student will spend predefined times in different labs of NPL and will act as an understudy to learn the experimental techniques used in specific applications.

Assessment includes assignments and examination.
